Hello, dear visitor. My name is Danilo, and the nickname I use online and in games is NightShadow. I’m already past my 30s and I work as a software engineer. I’ve been in this field for around 20 years, and I became passionate about technology from an early age, which helped me learn many different things while I was still a teenager.
As I mentioned before, I developed a passion for technology very early on, and my first contact with it came through video games. When I was very young, I got my first console, a Mega Drive that my father brought home after work. However, I wasn’t allowed to turn it on yet: I was supposed to wait until the next day so my father could set it up for me. Since I was too excited to wait, I ended up figuring out how to set everything up by myself, even though I was still just a child. I think that was the moment I discovered this curious side of myself, the part that likes to tinker with things in order to understand how they work.
My curiosity led me to learn how to use and understand all kinds of equipment we had at home, and whenever a family member had some kind of technical problem, they would call me to help.
Years passed, and I got my first computer, which soon became another learning tool. With it, I learned how hardware and operating systems worked, and when I got access to the internet for the first time, a door to a whole new world opened for me. I started taking part in online forums. The first one I remember was RPG Menace, and later I began spending time on another one we used to call “The Best” — I no longer remember its full name. Around that time, my curiosity led me to try to understand how the internet worked, and that was when I started down the path that would eventually become my career as a developer.
Now, talking a little more about my personal interests: I really enjoy anime. Since childhood, I used to watch some shows that aired on a Brazilian TV channel called Manchete. Later on, I discovered many other anime through another channel called Locomotion.
My first real contact with music was through rap, but I eventually started exploring other genres after discovering bands like Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others that were popular in the 2000s. Then, at some point, I discovered Helloween. That day changed everything: I became completely hooked on that kind of music, and it remains one of my biggest passions to this day.
